Mike S. Pinkston, MA, LPC
Mike has been a therapist since graduating from Denver Seminary in 1980. Besides counseling, he has been a trainer and seminar speaker for over twenty years. He has expertise in the areas of sexual addiction, sexual and emotional trauma, mens issues, couples therapy and parenting skills. He has spent over thirty years working with the youth of America through Young Life, has been a past board member of Reflective Living; and as a member of the TCSAAC, he chaired the committee that developed the protocol for treating adolescent sex offenders adopted by the state legislature of Texas. He has been a member of several professional organizations including SASH, ISSTD, ASCH, and EMDRIA.
His exuberant blend of passion, wisdom and life experience has helped many relinquish the pain of inner wounds and destructive life-long habits to find personal and relational healing and success. Patricia Pinkston, MA, LPC
Patti as a therapist and speaker since 1995, is passionately committed to the growth and reconciliation of women, both to themselves and others. She facilitates a woman’s journey to becoming all she was created to be by nurturing the successful implementation of change. Besides expertise working with partners of men with sexual addiction, codependence, couples therapy, Patti loves working with women struggling to make sense out of their lives, both on an individual basis and in groups. She is also a trainer in personal and spiritual growth helping individuals find meaningful change and lasting significance. Patti offers phone counseling and in-office counseling options. Both Mike and Patti have had personal training in relationship counseling and codependence from Pia Mellody and Terrence Real. They also have sexual addiction training from Dr. Douglas Weiss and Patrick Carnes. Both also have advanced certification in EMDR. They are happily married since 1986, have three grown sons and two beautiful granddaughters and one handsome grandson.
Kevin Uzri, MA, RPT
Kevin graduated from Denver Seminary with a Masters Degree in Counseling and has been leading men’s groups since 2003. He spent the first four years leading groups at Heart to Heart under the supervision of Dr. Doug Weiss, a nationally renowned expert in the treatment of sexual addiction. His expertise is in the area of sexual anorexia, intimacy aversion, sexual addiction, self esteem development, relationship boundaries as well as working with adolescents. Kevin writes for Heart Matters Facebook page offering advice and insight for those struggling with sexual addiction. Kevin has a keen understanding of men’s issues and combines his knowledge with compassion to help men work through life’s challenges with dignity. His approach allows for an environment where clients find safety, where they can talk openly and honestly. He is able to circumvent many of the walls that prevent true growth and help make sustainable changes in everyday life. Kevin is passionate about helping clients find knowledge of who they are and the inherent value that is in them.
Kevin and Jennifer also work together and offer a unique approach to marital therapy, where Kevin works with the husbands and Jennifer works with the wives individually and marital sessions are with all four. This offers continuity between individual and marital sessions and benefits from individual strengths both counselors.
Jennifer Uzri, RPT
Jennifer is a registered Psychotherapist in the State of Colorado. Besides her education in the field of Psychology, she has attended numerous professional training seminars to offer you the best treatment possible in her fields of expertise. Included in this training are extensive skills in group dynamics and individual therapy for treating sexual addiction, codependence, and partners of sex addicts. She is also trained to offer life coaching.
Jennifer has spent the last three years counseling individuals and leading groups at Heart To Heart Counseling in Colorado Springs. Dr. Doug Weiss, a nationally renowned expert in treating sex addiction, has trained and consulted with Jenni as she led groups at his counseling center. She is recognized as an expert in assisting partners of sexual addicts and helping those who struggle with codependence find relationship and personal empowerment. She is well-versed in relational boundaries and has exceptional abilities in assisting others as they implement appropriate boundaries in their relationships. Jennifer has an extensive understanding and unique abilities in helping others deal with the frustration of being in relationship with those who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Her refreshing approach allows her clients to find practical and effective solutions to the issues they face. She has conducted classes in the following areas- Dealing with a Narcissistic Spouse, Parenting with Love and Logic, Finding Practical and Effective Personal Boundaries, Self Care- Finding Options that Work, Navigating Through Spiritual Issues as well as Personal Financial Management.
Angelina Jones, RPT
Angelina is certified in art and play therapy and has intensive skills in dealing with children who have experienced grief due to divorce, separation, death of a loved one, or are having trouble making adjustments in life. Angelina works with children from two to seventeen and with parents who want to better understand their children and themselves. She has a commitment to give her clients the best treatment possible.
Angelina consistently attends professional training seminars and classes to sharpen her skills and to add to her wealth of experience in dealing with young children. She has participated in groups with partners of sex addicts and partners who have experienced the loss of loved ones. Angelina has spent many years working with alcoholics, partners and children of alcoholics, anger, divorce and sexual abuse issues.
