Mike is board certified by the International QEEG Certification Board  (IQCB), which puts him among the elite neurofeedback QEEG analysts in the country. Mike had the privilege of being invited to be a board member of the IQCB. The IQCB sets the standards for education and qualifications for performing QEEG internationally. He is also a member of the International Society of Neurofeedback Research (ISNR) and the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT) . Mike is sought after as a LORETA Z Score mentor nationally and internationally. He trains medical professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other neurofeedback clinicians. Mike graduated with his counseling degree from Denver Seminary in 1980. He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 1995 in the states of Texas and Colorado. He has been a clinician, trainer, and seminar speaker for over forty years.

After being a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma and complex psychological issues, Mike entered the world of neurofeedback in 2012 because he wanted to see greater healing in Heart Matter’s clients. Immediately he began mentorship with the several of the top neuroscientists in the country— Dr. Stephen Stockdale, Dr. Joel Lubar, Jay Gunkelman and Dr John Demos. His goal was to learn the latest technology to assess the brain from the best, as well as, learn to create neurofeedback protocols that are life changing for Heart Matter clients. Furthermore, he has made connections with the top brain experts in the world to provide the best outcomes for the patients of Heart Matters and the other clinics he oversees. He is currently also involved with Dr. Marvin Berman of the Quiet Mind Foundation and Dr. Jason Huang, of Texas A&M Medical School in Temple, Texas in a FDA clinical trial studying dementia.

He has expertise in LORETA Z Score neurofeedback, sexual addiction, sexual and emotional trauma, men’s issues, couples therapy and parenting skills. He has spent over thirty years working with the youth of America through Young Life, has been a past member of the TCSAAC. Mike chaired the committee that developed the protocol for treating adolescent sex offenders adopted by the state legislature of Texas. He has been a member of several professional organizations including SASH, ISSTD, ASCH, and EMDRIA.

His exuberant blend of passion, wisdom and life experience has helped many relinquish the pain of inner wounds and destructive life-long habits to find personal and relational healing and success.
